Imagine all the very best qualities of building with wood without any of the maintenance and hassle that comes with the corrosion due to outdoor elements. There is no need to imagine anymore: meet the Seaboard® family of hdpe marine board and outdoor building materials.
Whenever building anything—from a boat to a piece of furniture—it’s important to use the highest quality outdoor material available if it is going to come in contact with water, snow, rain, sand, saltwater or other harsh elements. Our Seaboard® family of marine board and outdoor building materials is workable and cuts like wood, but with the superior properties of plastic. Our plastics for outdoor use are designed and built to withstand damage from the elements, such as rotting, corrision, splintering and delimination.
Our Seaboard® family of products includes high-density Polyethylene (HDPE), Grip-X™, Supreme DS, Utility and Endurabond™. Each outdoor building product has characteristics that set it apart in the plastics industry. Our HDPE plastic has no moisture absorption, great scratch resistance and is FDA and USDA compliant. Grip-X has a superior UV package, a non-skid surface and is UV stabilized. It is also FDA, USDA and RoHS compliant. Supreme DS has ½ the expansion & contraction and twice the stiffness compared to standard HDPE, and a foamed core for reduced weight. Seaboard® Utility is a low-cost alternative that has a closed/small cell structure so it is non-absorbent. Seaboard® PVC has a high strength-to-weight ratio, is insect-resistant, and has the optimal density for superior stiffness, impact and fastening. Endurabond™ has premium structural support and surface adhesion characteristics.
Unlike wood or metal alternatives, our outdoor building materials do not rust, corrode, rot, delaminate or splinter. With their superior scratch resistance, stiffness and UV packages, our HDPE products are ideal for a wide range of applications including marine and non-marine outdoor cabinetry and furniture, hatches & covers, rails, trim & components and decorative wood or metal replacement.
Vycom’s Seaboard® HDPE, Light HDPE, Grip-X™, DS, Utility and PVC provide superior performance where water, UV exposure and other harsh elements are present. With superior scratch resistance, stiffness and packages, our HDPE and PVC plastics for outdoor use are ideal for outdoor cabinetry, marine furniture, signage and recreational applications. Seaboard® Endurabond™ material provides structural and bonding properties for marine and other applications and it also offers enhanced adhesion characteristics & optimal screw retention.
