Orbiting at the optimal distance from the sun to maintain life, Earth holds many benefits and wonders that we can’t ignore or take for granted. Perfectly sustained with a balanced gravitational pull from the sun and moon, covered with enough water to ensure life, with a vast array of beauty and mystery that keeps us intrigued, this planet is the only of its kind that we know of and it’s our responsibility to care for it.

Day to day we make decisions that impact the world around us – literally. From our energy sources to landfills, we can see the evidence that everything we do has a consequence. These repercussions may ultimately affect our quality of life and create a more chaotic environment…but we can do something about it. And we have.

“You can’t see the forest for the trees”, and this is what inevitability hurts us. Cutting down our natural wood resources for building materials not only reduces a valuable source in our life processes, but it also destroys the homes of many animals, insects, and plants that thrive in our forests. These creatures allow varieties of ecosystems to sustain their life and beauty. To continue to deplete these areas would devastate this planet and all living on it. A valuable lesson learned with the unfortunate fires in Australia and the Amazon is just how important our forests and wildlife are to this planet considering this devastation could take centuries to recover.

Years ago, we at Vycom realized how fragile our environment can be and decided that we would do our part to reduce the use of natural wood resources. We created products that could weather the storms and also reduce the damage caused by deforestation. We created products like TimberLine™ that maintain the beauty of wood while weathering the elements, outlasting and outperforming traditional materials and reducing landfill waste.

Approximately 28% of the population recycles, however, 80% of what the population throws away is recyclable. Understanding what is recyclable and the impact recycling has on our everyday lives can make a difference. For example, recycling just one aluminum can save enough energy to run a television for 3 hours.

Did you know that recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as it takes to burn it? We knew…that’s why we make every effort to bring our expired plastics and plastic scraps back to our recycling centers to be ground up and reused for new material. As a plastics company, we understand the impact we can make with our recycling efforts and this is why we also encourage our distributors and end-users to join our efforts in protecting this big beautiful Earth.

We love our planet. If we treat and care for it, future generations can enjoy the vast beauty this world has to offer. It’s another reason why we created products like TimberLine™ that maintain the beauty of wood while weathering the elements, outlasting and outperforming traditional materials and reducing landfill waste.

We believe this is the perfect relationship and one that we hope to cultivate and develop for many years to come.
